What's my motivation for Ælfsciene Animation?

I love stories. I love animation. Two elements, one superpower. With which I create fantabulous one-way tickets into whole new worlds where anything is possible. You’re super welcome to join me.

What are the origin and meaning of Ælfsciene?

Ælfsciene is an Old English adjective and means ‘beauty, as beautiful as an elf’. It consists of two elements, namely of the Old English noun ælf, which means ‘elf’, and of the Old English adjective sciene, which means ‘beautiful, fair, bright; brilliant, light’. During Anglo-Saxon times, elves generally seem to have been thought of as beings with magical powers and supernatural beauty, ambivalent towards everyday people and capable of either helping or hindering/hurting them.

What are the origin and meaning of Photoplay?

In 1910, Essanay Film Company organized a competition to coin a word both as a substitute for the somewhat unwieldy term "motion picture theater" and to describe "motion picture entertainment". Entries from the public were judged by a committee, and a decision was announced later that year. After careful consideration of the list of words, "photoplay" has been selected. The term has had different meanings, but at the end of the day it's all about showing a sequence of images in motion.

How long does it take to render an animated scene?

Let's say you've finished setting up a short animation clip and you want to start the rendering process for a 10 minutes production with 24 frames per second, it takes at least 24 hours to render one frame. Based on these values, it would take around 5760 hours or 240 days to render that many frames. The total render time is calculated as follows:

Time per frame x Frames. If we put our values into this formula, it would be: 24 x ( 10 x 24 )
